Yahoo Joins Shopify Partner Ecosystem, Enables Identity Adoption for Merchants

E-commerce continues to accelerate, with 18% growth expected in 2021. (1) Not only are people making more online purchases than ever before, but according to McKinsey, 75% of consumers have altered their brand preferences during the past year, making now the ideal time for small and medium-sized merchants to grow their user bases.

To address this shift to online shopping, Yahoo is proud to become a Shopify partner to empower small and medium-sized businesses to reach hundreds of millions of our users in premium environments, including Yahoo Finance, TechCrunch, AOL and more.

Yahoo’s e-commerce solutions are a strategic complement for merchants who have social commerce strategies. The combination of our unparalleled reach on quality sites and apps with our unique first-party data signals from Yahoo Search and Yahoo Mail enables merchants to get a more precise 360-view of their shoppers throughout their path to purchase.

Yahoo’s Dynamic Product Ads give merchants ultimate flexibility and control of marketing campaigns, delivering 9x ROAS vs. standard native ads, with 62% of users crediting the ads for improving the shopping experience.(2)

Beyond reach, engagement and measurement are top concerns for advertisers and merchants alike. And with shifting consumer privacy preferences, changing legislation, and web browsers phasing out third-party cookies, it’s becoming more challenging for advertisers and merchants to effectively engage and measure them in meaningful ways. Our partnership with Shopify addresses these challenges. Merchants can now use Yahoo ConnectID, a people-first persistent identifier for the cookieless world. Built on our proprietary identity graph, which delivers personalized ads to users across Yahoo’s inventory footprint, merchants gain a single view of campaign performance across a consumer’s journey to conversion in cookie-less environments.

Any Shopify merchant can now seamlessly adopt Yahoo ConnectID by installing the Yahoo Product Ads app in the Shopify App Store. The app unlocks our privacy-centric solution and automatically leverages a merchant’s product feed to dynamically promote products that are most relevant to their customers.

Shopify merchants can leverage Yahoo ConnectID and Dynamic Product Ads directly within their Shopify admin. The app is free to use, and merchants only pay for ads when they attract customers to their store. Merchants can set up campaigns in minutes and track results in near real time on the dashboard.

To kick off this partnership, Yahoo is offering new merchants a $100 ad credit after they spend $25 on advertising. Merchants can visit the Yahoo Product Ads in the Shopify App Store for full offer terms and to get started today.
